Bosque del Cabo Jungle Golf Tournament 2005
On July 4, 2005 Bosque del Cabo hosted the first annual Jungle Golf Tournament. The event took place in the Tropical Garden of Bosque del Cabo. There were 9 holes, and the course was more like a fun, short course (nothing regulation or formal about the course).
The golfers ranged from age 8 years old to 60+. There were men and women golfers. And there were golfers with years of experience and some complete novices. The one common factor with all the players was a good attitude and a desire to have fun.
In addition to the golf tournament Bosque del Cabo offered a BBQ style lunch for golfers and on-lookers. The traditional 4th of July fare included hamburgers, hotdogs, potato salad, cole slaw, potato chips, baked beans, and cupcakes. There were tables and chairs set up on the beautiful lawn of the garden so that non-golfers could relax and watch the fun.
Many people from the area showed up for this event. It was an afternoon of fun, friendship, and relaxation. There was some excitement, even a hole in one! And there was lots of time for visiting with each other and getting to know the neighbors better.
All the profits from the tournament went to Women of the Osa, in order to help pay for the recycling center that RANA will use (at the local high school in Puerto Jiménez).
